FREEDOM FASHION & THE RAYSHEO COLLECTION

Support creative expression through fashion with our Freedom Fashion store and program. Learn more about Raysheo, our Director of Freedom Fashion.

Raysheo Tate was born in the Bahamas and moved to Miami when he was seven years old. While overcoming adversity, Raysheo experienced different setbacks. As a teenager, Raysheo was involved in the juvenile (in)justice system. This is where he encountered Project KnuckleHead and became involved in different music and creative programs.

“Project KnuckleHead was so different for me because when I thought I had been cast out by society for my mistakes. They embraced me for all that I am! They also gave me many outlets to express myself through arts and music. Dr. KnuckleHead was and still is a great mentor and having heard his story at such a young age was so inspiring. At times when I wanted to drop out, it gave me the courage to stay in high school and get my diploma. It still encourages me as a college student today while I’ll complete my degree in culinary management. It’s programs like this that restore hunger and motivation for young people like me. We are able to use the arts to express ourselves in healthy ways that will propel us closer to our destiny. Fashion is a passion of mine and I’m excited to lead Project KnuckleHead’s Freedom Fashion initiative, design clothing, and provide workshops to students. Be on the lookout for this butterfly because I’m just beginning to crack open my cocoon!”
